I love to read Harry Potter because he and I have something in common and no it isn't the scar. Its the fact that he doesn't know his birth parents and I don't know mine. Well that's more like relate to each other.

I don't really know why I like the HP series, they are just very addicting. My grandma doesn't really like me reading them because of the witchcraft and stuff, but I know that's not why I them. I think it's because of the way JK writes them....the characters and their personalities....the plot.....the suspense... I mean, them being able to do things that we can only do in our dreams does make it more interesting, but I don't think that people should make up their minds just because of that stuff. I think pretty much everyone knows that HP is just fantasy, and a lot of people like fantasy stories. Yeah....that's what I think....... lol

I love the HP stories bc of the friend ships and the family togetherness i mean everyone cares for someone in them all and there are new friends and i love that its a fantasy storie about magic, flying on brooms and spells that is fascinating to me and it always has been. But i can sit down and read the books and see whats going on in my head and i love that. Im weird i know...LOL

ER...Ellen, you REALLY dont want to get me started but since you did, I will . First off, it really is just addicting but only because of the fasinating ways Rowling captures the souls of all her readers. The way she put so much discription into the stories. The way you feel when you read them is like entering a completely different world where anything is possible. Where you can excape your troubles and BE a character in the story. It's because of the way you WISH you could be a magical being. To be at diagan alley shopping for your Olivanders Wand and get your cauldrons from the cauldron store, to get your potion ingreidents at the apothecary, to shop for quidditch supplies, to get books at florrish and bolts, to get your wishes granted. It's because you can visulaise yourself as a student at hogwarts, competing agaisnt others for the top marks in your classes. It's because ANYTHING can happen to you in the HP world. It's the ways you can travel not on foot but by brooms, or floo power, or aparation. It's the way the main characters are in school just like we are or were once. It's because we can relate. It's they way the books make us think of a whole new world besides the safe one we know of. And it's the way how you wish you could say those incantions and hex anyone you want to atleast when it's not against the rules. It's the way you can sort yourself into a house and fall in love with the places in the castle. Okay i've decided to stop typing now thought I do not wish to. I could really go on forever using everything my english teachers have taught me to but i wont.

I haven't read any yet but do intend to when I get more time, however the movies are great for all ages from young to old, keep our minds active with regards to the possible and the impossible making the two closer then we could ever conceed in RL.

To be honest I'm a sucker for a journey type stories like Lord of the Rings or even Avatar: The Last Airbender. I also enjoy of being a character in the story and seems like you feel what the character feels. Plus comparing a character's personalities, past, life's story, and such to your own.
